MULTI-YEAR LONG CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF ASC CRANE MAIN GIRDERS FOR ANTWERP COMPLETED
At the beginning of May this year, the fourth, final, contingent of 8 main girders was delivered for the same customer, DP World, with terminals in ports around the world. It has been a little less than a year since the third identical delivery of ASC crane main girders intended for the Antwerp Gateway container terminal in Belgium. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Finnish company Konecranes since 2022, one batch has been delivered annually, first of 6, and then of 8 main girders of these cranes. A total of 30 main girders have been delivered in these 4 years.
ASC cranes (“automatic stacking crane”) are gantry cranes that run on rails and are automated for stacking containers in ports with large container warehouses. The steel structures of the main girders were manufactured in Radež and handrails and platforms were installed. In addition, drainage pipelines and electrical installations were installed on the main girders. Assembly of the cranes and their completion and commissioning will be carried out at the terminal in Antwerp.
